Today should be fine, tomorrow morning wake up with a splitting headache that worsens as the day goes on, and the day after that more of the same. But if I can make it through these next three days.... I’ll be in the clear. Miata in its (un)natural habitat for your time.
All these snow tire and winter driving articles on the front page and Oppo reaaaaally have me craving another forest service road run.

It’s rough but it will progressively get better. I went no caffeine for about 5 years. Now I limit myself to just one short cup of coffee a day. Hang in there.

If I went cold turkey I’d be on the floor with a splitting headache. Generally I try to limit myself to one large cup of coffee per day.
I saw some pretty sweet windows you’d like to wash. I’ll take a photo next time I ride the chairlift past the house. They are canted at about an 80 degree angle over a swimming pool, overall about 15 feet tall.

How much caffeine were you taking per day?
I’ve started drinking a cup per day and I have real concerns.

I have the next few days free of work/responsibilities, so I figure this is as good a time to deal with the withdrawal symptoms as any!

A slower wean would probably result in less headaches.

200mg. Via caffeine powder. Started just for workouts, then daily to get a real boost at work. Now it’s my normal.

Try cocaine, it will help with the coffee addiction for sure!

Er. Wait. No, that’s a terrible idea

Good luck! I quit caffeine for a while, but it really didn’t make a difference in how I felt (that is, after the first week of pure hell). Here’s hoping your results are better than mine!

Quitting coffee (and caffeine altogether) was one of the best things I’ve ever done for my body. You’ll be happy that you quit.

The only bad thing about it is if you run out. Just dont run out and then you are good! Whether or not it’s a terrible idea, it certainly would be effective.

Did it once before and it was great: but I also switched over to eating only non-proceccesed foods, tons of water, going to bed early, etc. So who knows if any of the “feel good” was caffeine related

I know what you’re going through, and I know it can be a tough addiction to break, like any drug. When I was in college I had a serious addiction, to the point where I was consuming several grams per day. 32 years later I think the quantities I was taking back then would probably kill me today.
I remember going to a beach party, and being everyone’s designated driver (I drove a Vanagon), I stayed sober. Sort of. I slammed down a six pack of Jolt cola (“All the sugar and twice the caffeine”) and 9 200mg No-Doz tablets. Everyone else was smoking and drinking and I was wired out of my gourd, strolling into the ocean fully clothed.
Withdrawal was a bitch, but I eventually got through it. Headaches for weeks and zero energy. Hopefully I didn’t do any permanent damage. I really haven’t had much coffee since, unlike the 4-5 cups I’d consume as soon as I got to work. Good luck to you.

I’m on the other end. I stopped drinking caffeine in college. One cup of coffee makes me jittery and have to pee.

I quit drinking coffee when I had my last e coli infection. Too sick to make coffee and coffee was getting expensive. I dont miss it at all.

Drink oh so much water. It’ll save your life. For me, I was at a liter of soda a day and quit that. Then a year later I started coffee, got hooked, then quit that too. Now I have the occasional caffeinated drink, but mostly stick to water. Almost a gallon a day and I feel great.

Oh yeah, you should definitely cut that out. At least coffee tastes good.

I get headaches if I have coffee more than one consecutive day. So I typically do MWF to avoid the “addiction.”

I try to avoid getting hooked on caffeine by avoiding drinking coffee more than a couple of days in a row. Occasionally I drink it every day for a week or two, and then experience withdrawal issues when I stop. The best approach is not to go completely cold turkey, but wean yourself off so that the withdrawal is not as painful.

I don’t really like coffee, but I love the smell. I wish I could get someone to brew it in my condo and then... Well. They can drink it all

Yikes, that’s an insane amount. Crazy the tolerances we can build up. I went to the hospital as a child after drinking three Monsters, 2 Amp’s and a couple sodas in the course of about two hours. I can’t imagine taking in MORE caffeine than that on aa regular basis...

The goal is to get back to the point where it provides a boost, so it can be be used sparingly for workouts or camping/rallycross style driving situations

Wishing you the best of luck.
I’ve been slowly decreasing my caffeine over the last year and its made me realize what horrible effects that it (and all the pop I was drinking) were having on my body.
Endless heartburn gone, jitters gone, stomach paunch diminishing :)
However you kick the the Caffeine habit, its worth it.

I drink coffee on cold mornings, but wean myself off of it in the warm months. I don’t drink much soda, so that’s effectively zero caffeine most days. I definitely feel one cup, and I have to stay away from the strong stuff or I’m likely to get a migraine.
The Mormons were right - it’s a very strong drug! Apparently now they can drink soda but not tea...?
